Despite the fact that the education budget is substantial, it's not enough to cover Namibia's needs. In fact, there are many areas where resources could be used more efficiently and effectively.

For example, teachers need more training in subjects and how to properly interpret it in a classroom. In order to handle inclusivity in education, Namibia recently revised its basic education curriculum. Based on the recommendations of the 2011 National Conference on Education, the Government Directives developed the new curricula. The country has been shocked by the results of the national examinations for grades 11 and 12 in 2022, as 80% of the candidates who took the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary and the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) levels did not pass the requirements for admission to schools of higher learning.According to an article in the New Era posted on 2023-01-04 by Aletta Shikololo, a few political party members and unions voiced profound dissatisfaction with the new system and the ministry.

Teachers need access to better textbooks, resources, classrooms and training so they can teach with confidence and accuracy. Additionally, there should be more schools in rural areas so that students can attend classes without having to move far away from home at such a young age (a common occurrence for many families where learners move to other regions in hope to find better schools).

The government should invest more money into improving its educational system so that we'll have better teachers who know how important these subjects will become over time.

Lack of education resources in Namibia is a huge challenge. It is important for us to have access to all the information we need and it’s very hard when you don’t know where to find it.
